Isleta Resort and Casino
has been selected as the site for the 2016
IACA Spring Wholesale Market. The event will be held on
April 4 and Tuesday, April 5
(just two days before the Albuquerque Oasis
Gift Show) and will include a full slate of activities including the 2016
IACA Artist of the Year celebration, a Business of Arts Seminar, the 2016
Annual IACA membership meeting and plenty of lively entertainment.
Registration for the 2016 IACA Spring Wholesale Market will begin in
January. You will be able to register for the market and reserve your room
at the Isleta Resort on the IACA website at that time.
The Indian Arts and Crafts Association is managed by a dedicated group of volunteers who produce annual wholesale markets, manage
IACA membership, produce marketing reports for IACA members, advocate for the honest sales of American Indian art, publish this
newsletter each quarter and manage the IACA website.
During 2015, volunteers have contributed nearly 1,700 hours of their time to further the IACA mission and to support IACA members. If
one could place a dollar value on the time so generously contributed by volunteers is would exceed $100,000.
Volunteers are vital to the ongoing success of your association, and members like yourself are needed to help accomplish that.
In 2016 your Board has some real challenges, and we will need a lot of help.
Your help
. Many of your Board members will be retiring at
the end of 2016, and we will need hard-working people to replace them. Because IACA is 100% volunteer based, we are asking members
to step up, spend a bit of time, and join a great team of folks who are trying to “…promote, preserve and protect” American Indian Art for
all of us.
Can you write an article for the Journal? Can you help produce the Spring Wholesale Show or the Artist of the Year Award Reception?
Can you spend a day in the office helping out with administration? Can you help with PR or Marketing? Can you design and produce
Business of Arts Seminars? We need folks to do all of this and more. Shoot us an email if you’d like to help in any way. Send it to presi-
. Attend a Board meeting or Workshop, and participate in planning and decision-making. You’ll find the schedule and
agenda on the web site at IACA.com in the “Members Only” area.
